Shutdown & Restart Shortcuts for Windows XP & Windows 2000

Windows 2000 (with the Resource Kit installed) and Windows XP (natively) have an actual shutdown command that can be launched from a command prompt — and which, therefore, also can be launched from a shortcut. To see all available options for this command, click Start, click Run, type CMD, and click OK. Then, in the box that appears, type:

SHUTDOWN /?

You can also study the available options in the Microsoft KB 317371, “How to Use the Remote Shutdown Tool to Shut Down and Restart a Computer in Windows 2000.” (The article is basically suitable for Win XP also.)

This command starts a 30-second countdown for a shutdown or restart, which permits you to abort it (with a shutdown -a command). It you want the command to execute, use the -t flag, which lets you set the time lapse in seconds. The examples below use a 1-second delay.

For a shortcut to RESTART Windows XP:
SHUTDOWN -r -t 01

For a shortcut to SHUT DOWN Windows XP:
SHUTDOWN -s -t 01

Unfortunately — especially on Windows XP — this option only shuts down Windows. It does not shut down your computer, at least on most hardware. For that, on Win XP (and for most Win 2000 users also), I recommend the freeware utility Shutdown.exe (not to be confused with the Windows utility by the same name) by MS-MVP Andrej Budja. I’ve seen several shutdown utilities recommended, but this is the only one that I’ve seen actually shut down Windows XP and then powerdown the computer behind it. For more information on the tool, see here. After you place this utility in the root folder of C:, the commands for a shutdown, restart, or hibernate (respectively), each without a time delay, would be shutdown -u -t 0 for shutdown, shutdown -r -t 0 for restart, and shutdown -h -t 0 for hibernate.

Join Samba in the SUBNET network on the Same Class

Here is the situation that I Just installed new Wireless Router in The Office, the Router need to create a subnet to join in the same class network in the existing network.

I'm Going to share my SAMBA across subnets. Both Windows and Linux clients will be able to use this server. Our example network has three segments, as this elegant ASCII network diagram shows:

For ease of discussion, we'll call them lan1, lan2, and lan3. Our Samba server sits on lan1, with an address of 192.168.1.10. lan2 and lan3 contain a motley assortment of Windows and Linux clients. In this example there is no domain controller, but only a peer network. We'll get to Windows-type domains in a moment.

Your Windows clients need three things to be able to use the Samba server:

• They must all be in the same workgroup (in part 1 it's group1)
• They must all be configured to support NetBIOS over TCP
• They need the address of your WINS server

You can save a step by delivering the WINS address via DHCP. Windows 2000, XP, and Vista should have NetBIOS-over-TCP enabled by default, but it never hurts to check. It can be disabled, and in Active Directory domains that do not have antique, unsafe Windows 9x/ME clients it is often turned off.

Then the Samba server must be the WINS (Windows Internetworking Name) server and domain master browser. You must have one, and one only WINS server per workgroup to enable cross-subnet Samba browsing. WINS is the magic ingredient that makes it all work. WINS performs NetBIOS name resolution, because ordinary DNS does not include the necessary NetBIOS extensions. NetBIOS-based networking uses UDP broadcasts; since broadcast traffic cannot cross routers, your Samba WINS server encapsulates NetBIOS over TCP/IP. The domain master browser controls the browse lists; it has nothing to do with Active Directory or NT domains.

at the the smb.conf and add these lines to the [global] section:

Test and restart Samba just like we did in Part 1. Once your Windows clients are correctly configured, they should all be able to browse the file shares on your Samba server and use your shared printers. Figure 1 shows what an example cross-subnet workgroup looks like on Windows Vista. Xena is the Samba server on lan1, Freya and Uberpc are on lan2, and Newpad is on lan3.

Set Your Wireless Channels

A. For best performance, you should choose a channel at least 5 channels from your neighbors' networks.

Although 802.11b and 802.11g devices are designed to share the airwaves with neighboring networks, it is best to find a clear channel for several reasons, chief among these:

1. When your neighbors' networks are busy, there is less available bandwidth on those frequencies for your data, reducing your performance

2. Your Access Point (AP) and wireless devices may not hear your neighbor's weaker wireless signals, causing degraded performance due to collisions

3. Your neighbor's networks may not be entirely 802.11b or 802.11g compliant. Some "advanced" technologies are known to interfere with 802.11-compliant systems instead of sharing the airwaves with them.

In order to find a completely clear channel, you need to choose a channel that is 5 or more channel numbers away from your neighbors. This is not always possible, particularly in heavily populated areas. So do your best.

You need to understand that the wireless channels translate to a radio frequency. Channel 6, for example, is 2.437 GHz (or 2437 MHz). Each channel up or down is 5 MHz away. However, and this is key, Wi-Fi signals are 20 MHz wide! So when you set your Wi-Fi device to channel 6, you actually are using the frequencies of channels 5, 6, 7, and half of 4 and 8.

So consider the situation below when 3 wireless networks are on 3 different, but adjacent channels, 5, 6, and 7. They may be different channels, but they are using much of the same spectrum and, as a result, they will contend with each other.

Let's Begin
Because 16 x 16 is such a small canvas area, it can be very difficult to be creative. So instead start your project with a canvas set at 64 x 64 (always use even multiples when you plan on resizing files). Do this by selecting File>New, and opening a new canvas that is 64 x 64 pixels in size.

The Design
If you already have a logo you should reduce it to the 16 x 16 size to see if it holds up. If it doesn't look good at this size, work with the 64 x 64 canvas and try creating a simple design that incorporates colors from your website's palette.

When you're ready to test the design select Image>Image Size menu and enter 16 x 16. Click on Resample Image and choose "Bicubic Sharper" from the drop-down menu (CS only for this step). This is the best setting for making sure that an image doesn't blur as it's being resized. If it’s still not sharp enough, go back and oversharpen, oversaturate and/or heighten the contrast of the original image and then resize it again.

If you feel the icon is not quite what you wanted, just keep tweaking it until it is perfect. At this tiny size it can take a few tries before you get it right.

Generic Host Process for Win32 Service Error

A few days ago, while i was surfing the web, an error occurred and it disconnected me from the internet. So i restarted my pc and after that i've been getting this annoying error everytime my computer is turned on and connected to internet for about 5 or 12 mins and the error message appears and it disconnects me from the internet, MSN , IRC and browser too and couldnt reconnect again. So i restart my pc everytime i get that error, was too lazy to fix it. hehehe! I got really mad about that problem and i started to work on my other pc with the same connection, not even half an hour, the annoying error popped on that even! So finally i thought of fixing that.

I checked my event viewer and i found this:

I met few people who got the same annoying error and some people told its a virus or something. So i scaned my pc with NOD32, Ad-aware SE , Spyware Doctor which are update-to-date, but it didnt detect any virus or anything. Some people have formatted their pc, but still the annoying error appears. I was so desperated and finally one of my friend came with a solution for this and since there are many people who got this old annoying error and also it keeps increasing day by day. So i've decided to post about this so people who got this problem can fix it without getting mad ;)
All you got to do is, close the so called port 135 & 445

To close it, do the following steps:

1. Open Registry Editor by going to Start>Run and in the box type: regedit.exe and press OK.
2. Now, from the Registry Editor, go to Edit>Find or Ctrl+F and write "TransportBindName" in the box without the quotation mark. It may take few mins to search. This value can be found in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\NetBT\Parameters
3. Double-click on that value and delete the default value in the box and press OK.
4. Find the value "EnableDCOM" which can be found in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Ole
5. Double-click on that value and set the value in the box as 'N' which currently maybe set as 'Y'.
6. Close the Registry Editor and restart your pc.
   

You can also download Windows Worms Doors Cleaner (WWDC) and close 135, 445 and NetBIOS (if necessary) or all the ports, but by disabling only 135 & 445 my pc seems to be normal without formatting my pc. One of my friend told this problem can be fixed by a patch from Microsoft and by using a registry cleaner and also he told this problem can be created by a virus called w32/sbotworm which attacks those ports. That virus is detectable from McAfee and the virus maybe still trying to get around the fix and again create that same old annoying error. So you need to update windows and virus definitions.

Cara alami mengobati Batu Empedu, dan hasil yang saya dapatkan...

Bila rekan2 ada yang mengira ada batu empedunya, cobalah cara untuk menghilangkannya secara alamiah. Pengobatan ini juga dapat dipakai bila ada keluhan gangguan hati, karena hati dan kandung empedu saling berkaitan, cara dan resep ini saya dapatkan dengan googling juga, dan alhamdulillah cara yang di berikan Dr. Hembing bisa pas dengan saya... silahkan di baca dan semoga bermanfaat.

Aturan pengobatan:
Selama lima hari berturut2 minumlah empat gelas sari buah apel setiap hari, atau makanlah empat atau lima buah apel, tergantung seleramu. Apel berkhasiat melembutkan batu empedu. Selama hari hari ini boleh makan seperti biasa.
Pada hari ke-enam jangan makan malam.
Jam 6 malam telanlah satu sendok teh "Epsom salt" (magnesium sulfat, garam Inggris??) dengan segelas air hangat. Jam 8 malam lakukan hal yang sama. Magnesium sulfat membuka pembuluh2 kandung empedu. Jam 10 malam campurkan setengah cangkir minyak But-but (zaitun) dengan setengah cangkir sari jeruk segar. Aduklah secukupnya sebelum diminum. Minyaknya melumasi batu2 untuk melancarkan lolosnya.

Keesokan hari Anda akan menemukan batu2 hijau dalam limbah air besarmu.

Mudah-mudahan penderita batu empedu dapat disembuhkan atau paling sedikit dapat mengurangi penderitaannya.

A. BAHAN: Buah apel merah segar, garam Inggris, Olive oil (minyak Zaitun ) dan buah lemon segar.

B. ALAT: Fruit Processor listrik, gelas takaran, dan kawat nyamuk plastik yang sudah dirakit sesuai ukuran kloset.

C. CARA: Biji apel dibuang kemudian di Juice dengan alat fruit processor listrik, ampas buang, juice 250 cc langsung diminum 1 jam sebelum makan pagi, makan siang, makan malam dan sebelum tidur ( jadi 4 X 250 cc sehari ) selama 5 hari berturut-turut. Hari ke 6 juice hanya minum pagi dan siang saja, selanjutnya puasa tetapi boleh minum air putih, sore pukul 18.00 minum 1 gelas air putih campur satu sendok makan garam Inggris dan pukul 20.00 minum lagi 1 gelas air putih campur 1 sendok makan Garam Inggris , pukul 22.00 minum 1/2 gelas Olive Oil (125cc) dan ½ gelas lemon juice (125 cc ) yang sudah diaduk merata.

D. REAKSI: Setelah minum garam Inggris 2 kali akan buang air besar beberapa kali, keesokan harinya buang air besar harus disaring dengan kawat nyamuk, setelah siram air, bila ada butiran warna hijau, besar seperti cendol hijau atau seperti pasir itulah batu empedu yang keluar melalui kotoran, hal ini dapat keluar tiga kali dari pagi sampai sore. Cara pengobatan ini kemungkinan harus dilakukan beberapa kali tergantung kondisi masing-masing, bila ingin tahu apakah masih ada atau sudah habis batu empedu harus periksa ke Dokter.(USG)

Pengobatan ini hanya dapat dilakukan bagi empedu si penderita masih baik dan belum tebal dan belum kaku.

Akhirnya orang tua pemuda itu mendapatkan orang tersebut, seorang kiyai.

Kiyai : Saya hamba Allah dan dengan izin-Nya saya akan menjawab pertanyaan anda.

Ini nih caranya tuk Mengupdate Contact dan mail Rules/Filter pabila tiba2 kita kena masalh dengan system windows kita baik krn harus di reinstall, ato windowsnya need to be repaired .. hehehe just for my humble journal.. kikiki..

1. Go to Outlook Contact Panel on the Right Side, continue with select the Contact Folder, right click on the Contact Folder and select Properties.
2. On the Properties window of you Contact, go to Outlook Address Book Tab, and make sure Mark The Option for "Show This Folders as an e-mail address", And Change the CONTACTS name becomes CONTACTOLD(or anything name that u prefer) and then Click OK / Apply
3. Go to Tools menu in your Microsoft Outlook, Select Address Book
4. On Address Book Windows, Go to Tools Menu Tab And Select/Click Option
5. Select the CONTACTOLD , in the options of "Show this Address list first" and "Keep Personal Addresses in"
6. make sure in the options of "When Sending Mail.....", the CONTACTOLD was in the first row/on the top
7. That's it

Kalo yang rules.., hanya minta di activate kembali, caranya, the howto is..

1. Go To menu Tools, select Rules and Alert..
2. go to Options Button on the Right Side,
   
3. click on Export Rules, Gave the Name (ex. MyRulez ) , press OK

Why do we read Quraan, even if we can't understand a single Arabic word ?

Mengapa kita membaca AlQuran meskipun kita tidak mengerti satupun artinya ?

Ini suatu cerita yang indah :

An old American Muslim lived on a farm in the mountains of eastern Kentucky with his young grandson. Each morning Grandpa wakeup early sitting at the kitchen table reading his Quran .

Seorang Muslim tua Amerika bertahan hidup di suatu perkebunan di suatu pegunungan sebelah timur Negara bagian Kentucky dengan cucu lelakinya yg masih muda. Setiap pagi Kakek bangun lebih awal dan membaca Quran di meja makan di dapurnya.

His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could. One day the grandson asked, "Grandpa! I try to read the Qur'an just like you but I don't understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Qur'an do?"

Cucu lelaki nya ingin sekali menjadi seperti kakeknya dan mencoba untuk menirunya dalam cara apapun semampunya. Suatu hari sang cucu nya bertanya, " Kakek! Aku mencoba untuk membaca Qur'An seperti yang kamu lakukan tetapi aku tidak memahaminya, dan apa yang aku pahami aku lupakan secepat aku menutup buku. Apa sih kebaikan dari membaca Qur'An?

The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, "Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water."

Dengan tenang sang Kakek dengan meletakkan batubara di tungku pemanas sambil berkata , " Bawa keranjang batubara ini ke sungai dan bawa kemari lagi penuhi dengan air."

The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house.

Maka sang cucu melakukan seperti yang diperintahkan kakek, tetapi semua air habis menetes sebelum tiba di depan rumahnya.

The grandfather laughed and said, "You'll have to move a little faster next time," and sent him back to the river with the basket to try again. This time the boy ran faster, but again the bas ket was empty before he returned home.

Kakek tertawa dan berkata, "Lain kali kamu harus melakukukannya lebih cepat lagi," Maka ia menyuruh cucunya kembali ke sungai dengan keranjang tsb untuk dicoba lagi. Sang cucu berlari lebih cepat, tetapi tetap, lagi2 keranjangnya kosong sebelum ia tiba di depan rumah.

Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was impossible to carry water in a basket, and he went to get a bucket instead. The old man said, "I don't want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water..

Dengan terengah-engah, ia berkata kepada kakek nya bahwa mustahil membawa air dari sungai dengan keranjang yang sudah bolong , maka sang cucu mengambil ember sebagai gantinya.
Sang kakek berkata, " Aku tidak mau satu ember air ; aku hanya mau satu keranjang air.

You're just not trying hard enough," and he went out the door to watch the boy try again.. At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would Leak out before he got back to the house.

Ayolah, usaha kamu kurang cukup," maka sang kakek pergi ke luar pintu untuk mengamati usaha cucu laki-lakinya itu. Cucu nya yakin sekali bahwa hal itu mustahil, tetapi ia tetap ingin menunjukkan kepada kakek nya, biar sekalipun ia berlari secepat-cepatnya, air tetap akan bocor keluar sebelum ia sampai ke rumah.

The boy again dipped the basket into river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty. Out of breathe, he said, "See Grandpa, it's useless!" "So you think it is useless?"

Sekali lagi sang cucu mengambil air ke dalam sungai dan berlari sekuat tenaga menghampiri kakek, tetapi ketika ia sampai didepan kakek keranjang sudah kosong lagi. Sambil terengah-engah ia berkata, " Lihat Kek, percuma!" " Jadi kamu pikir percuma?"

The old man said, "Look at the basket." The boy looked at the basket and for the first time realized that the basket was different. It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and was now clean, inside and out.

Kakek berkata, " Lihatlah keranjangnya. " Sang cucu menurut, melihat ke dalam keranjangnya dan untuk pertama kalinya menyadari bahwa keranjang itu sekarang berbeda.. Keranjang itu telah berubah dari keranjang batubara yang tua kotor dan kini bersih, luar dalam. "

"Son, that's what happens when you read the Qur'an. You mi ght not understand or remember everything, but when you read it, you will be changed, inside and out. That is the work of Allah in our lives.

"Cucuku, hal itulah yang terjadi ketika kamu membaca Qur'An. Kamu tidak bisa memahami atau ingat segalanya, tetapi ketika kamu membaca nya lagi, kamu akan berubah, didalam dan diluar dirimu .
