To run GrooveClean without options, browse to
C:\Program Files\Groove Networks\Groove\Bin and double-click on GrooveClean.exe. This will clear Groove communication queues and some diagnostic records. Deleting the buffer files may also delete some data in transit (for example, a packet that has not been processed yet). Groove's robust communication system should recover all missing workspace information, however, instant messages that have not yet been sent, or have been received, but not processed, may be lost.
Alternately, to completely remove all Groove account and workspace data with GrooveClean, run it with the "-all" argument, as follows:
- Right-click on the Groove icon in the system tray, and choose Exit Groove (Shut Down Groove in 2.x).
- Click the Windows Start button and choose Run.
- Browse to C:\Program Files\Groove Networks\Groove\Bin and choose GrooveClean.exe
- In the Run box, add "-all" to the end of the command line, so it reads: "C:\Program Files\Groove Networks\Groove\Bin\GrooveClean.exe" -all
- Click OK.
WARNING: Running GrooveClean with the "-all" argument deletes all accounts and workspace data. After this command, you will need to start from scratch, creating a new account as if you had just installed Groove, or reapplying a saved account. Note that a new account, even if created with all configurable data identical to the first, will not have the same identity.
